PLYMOUTH DlESEL SWlTCHER
The 18 ton switcher was built in 1943 for the Defense Department. It was later owned by the Alcoa Aluminum Company until it was obtained by the museum.

LEHIGH AND HUDSON RlVER ORE HOPPER
It is a two bay hopper which was built in September 1926 for the L&H Railroad. It was found in an abandoned lime stone quarry at Forest, Ohio and was donated to the museum by the Standard Slag Company of Youngstown, Ohio in April 1982.

PORTER 0-6-0 FlRELESS COOKER
The 65 ton "Fireless Cooker" was built in 1943 for the Avon Lake Plant of Cleveland Electric illuminating Company. This operated without a firebox by getting a charge of superheated steam from a stationary boiler which lasted about 4 hours.

MILWAUKEE ROAD ICE BUNKER URTX 37351
This was built in 1947 for the shipment of western fruits and vegetables.

MILWAUKEE ROAD COACH #618
Built in Milwaukee Road shops in 1946 as a 40 seat deluxe reclining seat coach for service on the "City Superliners". Used jointly by MILW, UP and SP between Chicago, Milwaukee and the west coast.

N&W STEEL CABOOSE #518397
This was built in N&W Roanoke, Virginia shops in 1924.

WHEELlNG & LAKE ERlE CURTICE, OHlO DEPOT
This depot stood on the W&LE main line south of Toledo. Built in 1882, it is typical of small wooden stations of the time. It was moved to Bellevue as a Bicentennial project in 1976, and was renamed "Bellevue" by the Society.

NKP STEEL BOX CAR #125228
This is a 40' car built for the W&LE RY in 1925. It is one of the first steel box cars built. (NKP displays inside)

FRANCE STONE QUARRY SlDE DUMP CAR
This car was built in the early 1900's. This is the oldest car in the museum. It was used in the Bellevue quarries for some 40 years and was retired in 1954. FSX ~03.

FRUlT GROWERS EXPRESS WOODEN ICE REFRIGERATOR CAR FGEX 35932
This was built by FGE in their shops in 1947. The car was built of wood because of a post World War II steel shortage. Local railroad unions and brotherhoods bought this car for the museum from FGE Company.

TROOP SLEEPER
This car was purchased from Orrville Railroad Heritage Committee in September of 1994 and restored.

TSCX COLLECTlON
This is a private collection of Ted and Sarah Church of Erie, Pennsylvania. It is displayed in former Troop Sleepers 9210, 9211, 9212 which were used by the US Army during Word War II and converted into box cars after the war.

B&O SWITCH ENGINE 0-6-0
This was built by Brooks Locomotive Works in Dunkirk, NY for the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railway in 1904. It was sold in 1954 to Ohio Sand and Gravel Company in New Martinsville, WVa. The museum purchased it in 1978 from the City of New Martinsville.

WABASH F7A #671 DIESEL
Built in 1951 by GMD of Canada in the London Ontario Diesel Plant, a served mostly on the Canadian St. Thomas Division of the Wabash between Windsor and Buffalo. Originally it was numbered 1162 by Wabash and later #3761 by N&W.

METAL REEFER URTX 31003
This 50' mechanical refrigerator car was built in 1945 and used to haul hanging sides of meat from western markets.

NKP CABOOSE #423 (BAY WINDOW) [closed]
This steel caboose was built at Ironville, Ohio shops in 1955/1956. It is a 37 ' HlGH SPEED SERVICE.

NKP CABOOSE #7OO (CUPOLA)
This steel caboose was built in 1948/1949 at the W&LE Ironville Shops. It is 36' and is the former W&LE #0200. HIGH SPEED SERVICE.

WOODEN REEFER FGEX 55407
This was donated by Fruit Growers Express in 1980. In 1993, Operation Lifesaver donated funds, materials, and VCR/TV to turn this car into an educational workshop on railroad safety.

NKP DYNAMOMETER CAR X50041 [closed]
This car was built in 1924 by Standard Steel Car Company. It was equipped with instruments to record speed, back pressure, boiler steam pressure, and pounds of drawbar pull of the steam locomotives. The only NKP Dynamometer Car used by NKP equipped with kitchen and berths for 6 workers and a porter. Through the efforts of Major Jeff Leaman, the car was acquired from the Department of Defense, State of Colorado in July, 1984.

GONDOLA NKP 70130
Built in 1923, this 50' wood gondola was donated by the N&W Railway in April 1982.

NKP GP30 DlESEL (NKP 900)
The Norfolk Southern Corporation donated this locomotive to the museum in memory of B.J. Hoops, former Superintendent of the Bellevue Yards. The dedication and christening was May 15, 1992.

NKP DIESEL #329
This is an RSD-12, built by the American Locomotive Corporation in 1957. It is a representative of the first generation diesel. It was retired in 1981 and was donated by the NS Corporation. It was dedicated to Robert Claytor, former president of the Norfolk Western Railway.

PRR POST OFFICE CAR #6570
This car was built around 1910 in the Altoona, Pa. Shops and was used until 1972. It is 75 ft. in length and weighs 65,000 lbs. This purchase was added to the museum in 1980.

L&N RAILWAY EXPRESS AGENCY BAGGAGE CAR #1484
This six axle heavy-weight car saw service on the L&N until the start of Amtrak

MILWAUKEE ROAD FAIRBANKS-MORSE SWITCH ENGINE #740
This model H-12-44-4 was manufactured April, 1952 in Beloit, Wisconsin. It was originally numbered 2310.

ERIE CONCRETE PHONE BOOTH
This was from the Marion, OH area

COMMUNICATION BOX
This was used only by the railroad crew.

B&O SWITCHMAN'S SHANTY
This was from the Havanna, OH area on the Sandusky Branch of the B&O Railroad.

DOUBLE OUTHOUSE (HIS & HERS)
This was originally behind the Curtice, Oh. Depot.

AC&Y SEMAPHORE
This semaphore was originally in front of the depot in Jenera, Oh. on the Akron, Canton, & Youngstown Railway.

WHEELING & LAKE ERIE ELEVATED CROSSING WATCHMAN'S TOWER
This tower was from the N&W Front Street crossing in Toledo, Oh.

NKP TELEPHONE SHANTY
Before the days of two-way radio, this building was used by the train crews to contact dispatchers and stations along the main line.

NKP PIGGYBACK TRAILER
This is an example of a 35 foot steel trailer used in the NKP High Speed Service.

TANK CAR
This car was built in 1912 and is of a riveted design. It was donated to the museum by Toledo Angola and Western Railroad in January 1995.

NEW YORK CENTRAL FREIGHT HOUSE
The freight house was purchased from the Seven Limers Corporation. It serves the Society as the office complex and meeting rooms. Not open to public.

B&O WAGON TOP CABOOSE
This was donated by the Chessie System, Willard, Oh in April 1983. It debuted in 1934 and was so named because of the round roof outside ribbed edges resembled a conestoga wagon.

CAR PUSHER
This 45 ton side arm pusher locomotive (electric) was built around 1920 by the Atlas Car Company in Cleveland, Oh. The unit was used at the Lower Lake Docks (PRRT Coal Docks) in Sandusky, Oh. It was donated by NS Corporation in 1992.

NEW YORK CENTRAL SNOWPLOW 3X665
This was built in Ridgeway Pa. in 1943. It operated by steam and weighs 42.5 ton. It has 12 foot movable arms (blades) which can be widened to cover two tracks.

CB&Q SILVER DOME #4714 (9401)
The first dome car built in the United States. The car originally began as a Budd built stainless steel Burlington Route coach in 1939. It was rebuilt into the nation's first dome card amid melodramatic high secrecy by the Chicago, Burlington, & Quincy Railroad in 1945. The maiden trip was on the Chicago-Minneapolis-St.Paul Two City Zephyr (7/23/45). It was taken over by Amtrak and renumber 9401. (Temporarily closed for restoration)

AMTRAK #8002 (SEABOARD AIRLINE DINER)
This car was built by Budd in 1939. The 48 seat stainless steel diner was used on the New York to Florida Streamliners. (Temporarily closed for restoration)

NICKEL PLATE ROAD COACH #105
The stainless steel car was built by Pullman-Standard Company in 1949 as a 52 seat day coach. Amtrak later altered the car, becoming a 60 seat coach. It was derailed in Mississippi a few years later. The damaged car was sold to the museum. A plaque listing the donors' names are on display inside the car. It has been restored to the original color scheme of the NKP. (Temporarily closed for restoration)

WORK TRAIN KITCHEN CAR
Built by Pullman in 1927 and was renumbered NKP 104 Diner/Lounge (originally).

N&W DERRICK CRANE #514900
This 280,000 lb. crane with a 200 ton capacity, was built by Industrial Works of Bay City, Michigan in 1923. It was originally steam powered, becoming dieselized in 1959. It was donated by NS Corporation in 1993.
